Morgan Lindholm’s role as Maddie will be expanded in the second season of CBS’s Yellowstone spin-off Marshals, giving greater prominence to a character previously seen only briefly. The change could deepen the programme’s emotional storylines because Maddie is estranged from her U.S. Marshal father and is romantically involved with another member of his task force.

Marshals follows Luke Grimes’s Kayce Dutton as he moves into law enforcement alongside returning Yellowstone characters Tate, Rainwater and Mo. Maddie is the daughter of task-force leader Pete Calvin, played by Logan Marshall-Green; Deadline also reported that Marque Richardson will recur as Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrick Burns. Season two is currently filming and is due to premiere this autumn, although Maddie’s specific storyline has not been announced.
