Atreyu vocalist Brandon Saller said the band has deliberately avoided chasing changing musical trends, instead focusing on its own sound throughout a career spanning roughly three decades. He said the group remains ambitious in its early forties, viewing recent milestones such as using live pyrotechnics for the first time as evidence that it still has room to grow.

Saller reflected that he was once overly concerned with image, external feedback and the commercial side of music, but now places greater trust in the band’s shared creative judgement. Atreyu’s tenth album, *The End Is Not The End*, was released in April through Spinefarm and was produced by Matt Pauling; Saller has called it the band’s heaviest and most metal record.
