‘Just One Day’ YA Drama Starring Kathryn Newton Moves To Hulu For Development
Hulu is developing a young-adult drama adaptation of Gayle Forman’s Just One Day, with Kathryn Newton attached to star. The project had previously been developed at Amazon but did not proceed there, and its move to Hulu reflects the streamer’s continued interest in YA programming.
The series will follow Allyson Healey, whose carefully planned European trip changes after she impulsively travels to Paris with free-spirited actor Willem for one day. Writers Sherri Cooper and Jennifer Levin are returning to adapt the novels, with 20th Television producing; the two main books have sold nearly one million copies across 19 territories.
