Weezer guitarist Brian Bell has said the band’s as-yet-untitled film has been completed and is due for release in 2027. The confirmation gives a firm timeframe for a project first announced at Coachella last year, though official details about its plot, cast and title remain limited.

Earlier reports described the film as combining elements of *Scott Pilgrim vs. the World* and *Weird: The Al Yankovic Story*, and suggested Keanu Reeves would play its villain; reported Jack Black involvement was later denied by a band spokesperson. Weezer will also tour internationally in 2026 and 2027 behind their 20th album, *The Gold Album*, due on 21 August.
