Weezer guitarist Brian Bell has said the band’s feature film has been completed and is expected to be released in 2027. His comments provide the clearest confirmation yet that the project, first revealed during the band’s surprise Coachella appearance in 2025, is moving ahead.

Bell said the film was “in the can”, meaning principal filming has finished, though he did not reveal its plot or exact release date. Fans had previously identified Los Angeles filming notices for a scripted feature provisionally titled *Weezer: Security Threat*, while Weezer’s next self-titled album, known by fans as *The Gold Album*, is due on 21 August.
