Jeff Bezos Buying Ownership Stake in English Premiere League’s Liverpool Soccer Team
Jeff Bezos is acquiring a minority stake in Liverpool FC through K5 Sports, an investment consortium in which he is the lead investor. The deal marks Bezos’s first investment in a sports team and brings one of the world’s wealthiest individuals into English football, while Fenway Sports Group will retain majority ownership and operational control.
FSG is also selling minority stakes to 1892 Holdings, led by UK investor Amit Bhatia, and EE Capital, which manages Eduardo Saverin’s family assets. Financial terms were not disclosed, but reports say the sale of roughly one-third of Liverpool’s ownership values the club at more than $7 billion; completion remains subject to regulatory and other closing approvals.
