Tokyo’s Summer Sonic Festival has teased a possible Radiohead appearance in 2027, showing concert footage of the band followed by the words “TOKYO 2027” on festival screens. The hint matters because it suggests Radiohead may resume international live performances after returning to the stage in late 2025 following a seven-year absence.

Radiohead previously headlined Summer Sonic in 2003 and 2016, while Thom Yorke performed a related club show in 2015. Guitarist Ed O’Brien has said the band may use a limited touring model, potentially playing up to 20 shows annually in a different continent each year, with 2027 discussed as a possible starting point; no official festival booking has yet been confirmed.
