Noware, a New York design duo, is preparing to ship the Puff: a retro-futuristic necklace that conceals a 128 GB USB flash drive and has a small customisable display. The product gained major attention after an early prototype went viral in 2025, and its creators see it as an attempt to make everyday electronics more playful, personal and wearable.

The stainless-steel accessory is due to ship in October at $179, far above the roughly $30 cost of a conventional drive with similar storage. Its display works when connected to a phone or laptop and can show animated, motion-reactive or user-created designs; it has no internal battery, allowing it to function as jewellery when unplugged. Noware says high memory costs linked to the AI boom contribute to the price, and it may later offer cheaper versions.
