Whoop’s Advanced Labs health screenings will no longer require a subscription

Engadget · 3 hours ago

Whoop has removed the subscription requirement for its Advanced Labs blood testing service, opening up health screenings to any user of its screenless fitness wearable rather than just paying members. The move comes as the market for screenless fitness trackers grows more competitive, with rivals such as Garmin and Google Fitbit launching similar products, suggesting Whoop is trying to retain customer interest by making its health data offerings more widely accessible.

The lab tests, conducted by Quest Diagnostics, still cost money on a pay-as-you-go basis, starting at around $150, but are no longer gated behind an additional membership fee. Advanced Labs screenings provide insights into cardiovascular, metabolic, hormonal and inflammatory health, and Whoop has also added Galleri, a multi-cancer early detection test, to the programme's offerings.
