Paris Jackson remembers perforating her septum from “snorting drugs”

NME · 3 hours ago

Paris Jackson has opened up about permanently perforating her septum through drug use, revealing she can see "straight through" her nose as a result. The singer, now six years sober, shared the reflection ahead of releasing her second album, "Happiest Day Of My Life", underscoring how far she has come since her struggles with addiction.

Speaking on the "On Purpose With Jay Shetty" podcast, Jackson described discovering the damage in a moment of panic, recalling blood everywhere as she looked in the mirror. A doctor told her the perforation could be surgically repaired, but warned that continuing drug use would likely cause the same injury again, so reconstructive surgery wasn't yet worthwhile. Jackson first disclosed the injury publicly in a TikTok video last November, urging viewers not to take drugs, and marked six years of sobriety this January. Her new album, produced with Linda Perry, is out on Friday (21 August) and follows her 2020 debut "Wilted".
