A tribute celebration held in Conisbrough honoured dance instructor Sylvia Senior, who died at 49 following an aggressive cancer diagnosis. Organised by her lifelong friend and featuring performances from multiple regional dance schools, the event commemorated Sylvia's decades-long commitment to dance—beginning at age three—whilst raising money for Weston Park Cancer Charity, the organisation that supported her during her illness.

The July fundraiser generated £2,770 on the day through ticket and raffle sales, with the total reaching £3,317 following additional contributions including a sponsored walk and personal donation from Sylvia's family. Her husband and daughter later visited the charity to present the cheque, underscoring community recognition of both Sylvia's influence on local dance culture and the importance of the healthcare service that cared for her.
