Frank, Young and more join MOTD as BBC launches four new YouTube shows
BBC Sport has announced its line-up for the 2026-27 men's football season, adding new pundits to Match of the Day and launching four new shows on its YouTube channel. Former Tottenham players Toby Alderweireld and Robbie Keane, ex-Manchester United defender Ashley Young, and former Brentford and Tottenham manager Thomas Frank will join the programme, part of a wider push by the BBC to broaden how it covers football across TV, radio and online platforms.
The BBC Football YouTube channel will host four new formats — FANS², The Truth About Football, Golden Goal and Football Hub — alongside a new "Fan Collective" featuring supporters from all 20 Premier League clubs. BBC Radio 5 Live will carry live commentary of 209 Premier League matches, plus Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup and international coverage, while iPlayer will stream two FA Cup ties per round and a weekly Bundesliga match. BBC Sport NI has also signed a new three-year deal with the Irish FA and NIFL, guaranteeing free-to-air coverage of Northern Ireland internationals until June 2028.
