Amazon MGM Studios and Colour Yellow have scheduled the Indian fantasy family film "Nayyi Navelli," starring Yami Gautam Dhar, for a cinema release timed to the Dussehra festival in October. The project marks the first collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios and Colour Yellow, the production banner founded by filmmaker Aanand L Rai, and is being positioned as a major festive family release.

Balaji Mohan directs from a script by Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma, with Rai and Himanshu Sharma producing and G.V. Prakash Kumar composing the score. The story centres on a new bride whose arrival brings harmony to a troubled household in Meerut, before her brother-in-law becomes convinced she is secretly a "daayan," or witch, blending family comedy with fantasy adventure. The film opens in cinemas on 16 October, with studio and producer executives praising Gautam Dhar's performance and calling it an ideal fit for the Dussehra holiday period.
