Billboard · 2 hours ago

Australian musician Zeppelin Hamilton, who performs as the psychedelic-pop act Velvet Trip, has signed an exclusive global publishing deal with BMG. The Sydney-based artist, who is Wiradjuri, joins BMG's Australian and New Zealand roster alongside names such as Neil Finn, Jet and The Cat Empire, with the label describing the deal as a unanimous decision by its A&R team who see him on the verge of a major breakout.

The agreement follows a strong year for Velvet Trip, including an APRA Professional Development Award and an ARIA Top 40 placing for second album Glimmers Continued, which debuted at No. 33 on the national chart and No. 5 on the Australian Artist Albums chart; debut album Harmony Blooms had peaked at No. 19 in 2024. Hamilton was also a winner of the triple j Unearthed x NIDA competition and finished 2025 as the most-played artist on triple j Unearthed, while building a live reputation supporting acts including Djo, Parcels and Ocean Alley and playing festivals such as Bluesfest and Yours & Owls. Financial terms of the BMG deal were not disclosed.
