FPS Games Are Finally Getting a Dedicated Showcase

Polygon · 2 hours ago

Bulkhead, the studio behind the upcoming Steam Early Access title Wardogs, is launching a new pre-recorded event called the FPS Games Show, dedicated entirely to first-person shooter titles. Set for Thursday 3 September at 2pm EDT and streamed exclusively on Twitch, the showcase aims to fill a gap its creators see in the industry, where FPS fans are typically served by only a game or two within broader, genre-mixed gaming showcases.

The show will feature 16 games, including Rainbow Six Siege, Escape from Tarkov, Ready or Not and SCUM, with all developers participating for free and no paid placements involved. Bulkhead's founders say standard showcase slots can cost as much as $300,000 for a 60-second trailer, prompting them to create their own platform instead. Steam is also supporting the event with a dedicated third-party platform page offering discounts, free demos and free weekends for featured titles.
