An Iconic Fantasy Video Game Is Officially Back With a First Look at the New Release [Exclusive]
The Thief video game franchise is expanding beyond games, with publisher Bit Bot Media announcing a new tie-in comic, Thief: Pulse of Promise, set between the original Thief: The Dark Project and its sequel The Metal Age. The project forms part of a wider revival for the stealth-action series, which returned last year with Thief VR: Legacy of Shadows and is also getting a remaster of the original game from Nightdive Studios this winter, alongside a BackerKit crowdfunding campaign for the comic itself.
Written by Bit Bot co-founder Joshua Viola and Sean Eads, the comic follows protagonist Garrett on a heist that unravels into a plot involving Keeper secrets and a mysterious boy, featuring returning characters Artemus and Father Karras. It will be accompanied by a 12-track soundtrack from electronic artist Celldweller, whose lead single "Never a Thief" includes new recorded lines from original voice actor Stephen Russell; Collider has exclusively shared the track's lyric video alongside a previously revealed variant cover by artist Tyler Kirkham.
