Zurich Summit: Kane Parsons, Kevin Maher, Efe Cakarel & AI Actor Tilly Norwood Among Speakers

Deadline · 2 hours ago

The Zurich Summit, the industry conference held alongside the Zurich Film Festival and often dubbed the "Davos of the film industry", has announced a high-profile speaker lineup for its 2026 edition. Headline names include Backrooms director Kane Parsons, Academy CEO Bill Kramer, Candle Media's Kevin Mayer, MUBI founder Efe Cakarel, Mediawan Pictures' Elisabeth d'Arvieu, and Particle 6 CEO Eline van der Velden, who will appear in conversation with her AI-generated creation, actor Tilly Norwood. The event underscores growing industry interest in artificial intelligence, streaming strategy and the resilience of theatrical cinema.

The summit runs from 25 to 27 September 2026 at The Dolder Grand in Zurich, with sessions expected to cover AI, the creator economy, the box office recovery and industry consolidation. Parsons and Kramer will discuss this year's theatrical rebound, partly driven by Parsons' horror hit Backrooms, while Kramer will also outline his vision for the Academy following its deal to stream the Oscars exclusively on YouTube from 2029. Cakarel will deliver a keynote on MUBI's growth before joining a panel with Mayer and d'Arvieu on building resilient media companies through mergers and acquisitions. Other confirmed speakers include Glen Basner of FilmNation, CAA's Roeg Sutherland and Sarah Schweitzman, UTA's Rena Ronson, and former WME executive Alex Walton, with Deadline serving as the event's official media partner.
