‘Stranger Things’ Officially Brings Back Eddie Munson For New Spin-Off

Collider · 2 hours ago

Netflix has revived Eddie Munson, the fan-favourite "Stranger Things" character played by Joseph Quinn, through a spin-off comic book project rather than a new television series. The move comes as Netflix looks for ways to keep the "Stranger Things" universe alive following the show's conclusion, having already tried and failed to replace it with the Duffer brothers' new series "The Boroughs", which was cancelled despite strong viewership due to its high production costs.

Eddie's return takes the form of "Stranger Things x Dungeons and Dragons: The Rise of Hellfire", a four-issue comic series that follows Lucas, Dustin and Mike on a fantasy adventure alongside Eddie and other members of the Hellfire Club. The individual issues were released last year, and all four have since been collected into a trade paperback, released on 30 September and currently available on Amazon for $15. Separately, Netflix has confirmed a sequel to its sci-fi film "War Machine", starring Alan Ritchson, after the original broke into the platform's all-time top 10.

  • Eddie Munson returns via a "Stranger Things" Dungeons & Dragons comic spin-off.
  • Full four-issue series is now collected in a $15 paperback.
  • Comes after Netflix's attempted successor series "The Boroughs" was cancelled.
