Google is offering college students a year of its AI Pro plan for free
Google is offering eligible US college students a free year of its AI Pro subscription, normally priced at $200 annually or $20 monthly. The move appears designed to boost Gemini's usage figures, but the package also throws in substantial cloud storage and health tracking perks, making it a reasonably attractive offer even for those less interested in AI tools.
Subscribers receive quadruple the usual Gemini usage limits, access to the Spark agentic platform, and Gemini integration across Workspace apps such as Gmail and Docs, alongside 5TB of cloud storage and a Google Health Premium subscription that links with Fitbit and other trackers. Google is also selling a discounted bundle combining AI Pro with YouTube Premium for $9 a month. The offer automatically renews at full price after a year, so students will need to cancel manually to avoid charges. Students outside the US are instead offered a year of the more basic Google AI Plus, worth $5 a month, which includes Gemini Omni, double the standard chatbot usage limits and 400GB of storage.
