Universal Pictures is developing a feature film adaptation of Forrest Brazeal's forthcoming debut novel Paradox Inc., with production shingle Lord Miller and director Daniel Roher attached to the project. The deal brings together the Oscar-winning team behind Project Hail Mary with Roher, an Academy Award-winning filmmaker known for the documentary Navalny and this year's Tuner, marking a notable expansion of Lord Miller's busy production slate at the studio.

Roher will direct and co-write a treatment with Matthew Robinson, who penned the Netflix hit The Last House and will handle the screenplay adaptation. The novel follows a scrappy startup battling a dysfunctional Big Tech company to build the world's first consumer time machine, with control of reality itself at stake; author Brazeal, a former Google employee, releases the book via Penguin Random House on 19 January 2027. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will produce through their first-look Universal deal alongside Lucy Kitada and Aditya Sood, with Brazeal executive producing; the announcement comes as Lord Miller rides high on Project Hail Mary's $684 million global haul and 11 Emmy nominations for Spider-Noir.
