Anderson .Paak and Cordae have announced a new joint album, Heavy Is the Crown, due for release on 23 October via APESHIT/Mass Appeal/EMPIRE, alongside a trailer for the project. The record extends a creative partnership between the two artists that began with "RNP" on Cordae's 2019 debut The Lost Boy and has since included further collaborations and joint TV performances.

The pair have previously worked together on tracks such as "Two Tens" and "Summer Drop", as well as appearing together at the BET Awards and on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The new album's artwork nods to the 2008 comedy Step Brothers, reflecting the duo's close working relationship, and physical copies, including an Amazon-exclusive vinyl, are already available for pre-order. .Paak is currently touring as part of Bruno Mars's "The Romantic Tour", both opening under his DJ Pee .Wee alias and joining Mars on stage for Silk Sonic songs.
