Ella Langley Continues Powerful Concert Tradition With Gospel Message to Texas Fans
Country singer Ella Langley delivered an emotional, faith-centred message to fans during a concert at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, telling the crowd they were loved by Jesus Christ before performing her song "Loving Life Again." The moment continued a tradition she often follows before that particular track, in which she reflects openly on uncertainty in her own life and credits her faith with helping her cope.
The speech came as Langley approaches a major chart milestone: her song "Choosin' Texas" has spent 18 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100, putting her one week away from equalling the record for the longest run at number one among non-holiday songs, currently jointly held by Shaboozey's "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" and Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road." Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" still holds the all-time record with 22 weeks. Langley released her latest album, Dandelion, in April and has since toured with Morgan Wallen, with whom she released a duet; she is now preparing to launch her own headlining Dandelion Tour, beginning in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on 20 August and running through to a final show in St Paul, Minnesota, on Halloween night.
