Sheffield Wednesday head coach Henrik Pedersen has confirmed that former defender Jack Hunt is training with the club to rebuild his fitness. The arrangement is presented as support for the 34-year-old free agent rather than evidence of an imminent signing, although it keeps him close to the squad during a period when Wednesday need greater depth.

Hunt contacted Pedersen to ask to train and was told he could do so until he finds another club. The right-back previously made 180 appearances across two spells with Wednesday, while recent moves to Bradford City and Reading did not result in a contract; he has been without a club since leaving Bristol Rovers in late June.
