New Terraria “hotfix” feels a lot more like an update, bringing changes fans of the survival game have wanted for over 10 years

Terraria’s version 1.4.5.7 has been released as a “hotfix”, but introduces broad gameplay additions, item changes and balance revisions more typical of a full update. It matters because it addresses long-standing player requests, particularly making loadouts more practical and substantially improving previously neglected weapon types.

Players can now favourite equipment so it can be shared between loadouts, avoiding the need to acquire duplicate accessories for different builds. The patch also reworks mana-related gameplay, adds new items and accessories, expands summoner options including controlled whip stacking, improves yo-yos such as the Kraken and Eye of Cthulhu, and fixes smaller issues including hazardous spawn points; Terraria originally launched in 2011.

  • Terraria’s “hotfix” adds major features and balance changes.
  • Loadout equipment can finally be shared between builds.
  • Yo-yos, summoners and mana gameplay receive significant attention.
