NBA 2K27 is introducing a new MyNBA Legacy mode that draws clear inspiration from Crusader Kings 3's dynasty-building gameplay. Revealed ahead of the game's 4 September release, the mode lets players guide a single created or existing player and their descendants through a 100-year family dynasty, blending career-mode play with generational strategy rather than the series' usual multi-team management approach.

In the new player-locked RPG mode, players choose an active star, prospect or created player as a "Legend", either keeping their current attributes or resetting them to rookie level, then chase stat goals and playoff success to earn Performance Points. Descendants inherit their parent's rookie profile as a starting template, passing down hereditary traits and bonuses that build towards "Eternal G.O.A.T." status across the century-long dynasty, offering a fresh spin on 2K's long-running alternate-history basketball sandbox.
