Shygirl has released a new single, 'Alyse', marking her first output of 2026 and signalling the start of a new creative chapter for the UK artist. Described as a stripped-back return to basics, the track sees her rebuilding her sound while blending previously contrasting elements of her musical identity, underlining her willingness to evolve rather than repeat past work.

The song was written and produced by Shygirl alongside regular collaborator Karma Kid and JD Reid, combining her familiar club-ready electronic production and commanding vocal delivery with an unexpected addition: cello. Alongside the single, a three-act cinematic video has been released, with Shygirl overseeing the project and co-writing the story and script with George Smale; the video was directed by Francesco Loy Bell and Oliver Bell.
