20 Questions With DJ Harvey: ‘Once My Rent’s Paid & I Can Eat Sushi, I Stop Working’

Billboard · 3 hours ago

DJ Harvey, the veteran English DJ and producer, is featured in Billboard's "20 Questions" series ahead of his only UK show of the year. At 65, Harvey (born Harvey Bassett) discusses his decades-long career spanning disco, house, funk and techno, reflecting on his approach to work, family and lifestyle in his trademark candid, humorous style.

The interview coincides with Harvey's performance this Saturday (22 August) at a one-night revival of Ministry of Sound's early-1990s club night Rulin, the party that helped establish his reputation, where he will play open to close in the venue's Box room alongside DJ Paulette, Don Letts, Heidi Lawden and Lovefingers. His autumn schedule also includes shows at New York's Knockdown Center, the Ocean Way Festival in Santa Monica, Goldenvoice's new Head Trip festival and Miami's III Points, plus a set in Ibiza during the solar eclipse.
