Unmasked: Cops identify man accused of terrorizing woman in terrifying Chucky-style costume

Philadelphia police have identified a man they believe chased and threatened a female jogger while wearing a Chucky doll mask, and say he may now have fled the state. Zymire Hughes, 22, is accused of pursuing the 40-year-old woman during her early morning run and terrorising several other people in the area, an incident that alarmed the local community and prompted a strong public response from prosecutors.

Police allege Hughes chased the jogger near City Hall at around 5.30am last Wednesday, making threatening remarks while concealing his hand behind his back, which caused her to stumble and injure herself. Officers say he laughed at victims and asked if they were "ready to die," and a second alleged victim, Jameka, said he appeared to be filming the encounters and only fled after she kicked him. District Attorney Larry Krasner condemned Hughes at a news conference, noting he is on probation for a separate offence in Montgomery County, and police believe he may now be in California or Nevada.
