Sony-backed console exclusive Phantom Blade Zero is on track for a huge launch, with analysts predicting it could rival Black Myth Wukong as the biggest Chinese game release in recent years. Strong pre-order figures suggest significant commercial interest ahead of its release, and the title is expected to feature prominently at Gamescom next week, with a playable demo widely rumoured.

Analytics firm Alinea estimates the game may have already sold around 300,000 copies via Steam pre-orders alone, excluding PS5 sales, with roughly ten weeks remaining before launch. It currently ranks as the seventh most pre-ordered title on the US PS Store, trailing only GTA 6, NBA 2K27 and Marvel's Wolverine. Analyst Rhys Elliott notes the $60 game is priced competitively in its home market, with the Chinese version costing around 30% less than the US release after currency adjustment, a factor likely to drive strong domestic sales.
