Brian Robert Jones, the touring guitarist known for playing with Vampire Weekend, Paramore and Hayley Williams, has released his own comedic concept album, "Weezyana: The Louisiana Purchase Musical." The nearly two-hour project reimagines the story of Thomas Jefferson and the Louisiana Purchase as a full musical theatre production, complete with Broadway-style songs and narrated plot segments delivered with a deadpan comic tone.

The album runs to 42 tracks and blends absurdist elements, including a prologue involving fictional alien civilisations and an irreverent depiction of Napoleon Bonaparte, with genuinely polished musical theatre songwriting. Jones performs all lead vocals himself, backed by an ensemble of friends and collaborators, and Hayley Williams features on the record. It is available on streaming platforms, though Jones recommends watching the full lyric video on YouTube, and the album is out now via LXIX Records.
