Priyanka Chopra Jonas on making a film about love and caste inequality

BBC Entertainment · 4 hours ago

Actress and producer Priyanka Chopra Jonas has spoken to the BBC about executive producing The Cycle of Love, a new film exploring both romance and caste discrimination in India. She told culture correspondent Noor Nanji she was immediately captivated by the true story at the heart of the project, which she believed deserved to be told on screen.

The film dramatises the real-life journey of Indian artist PK Mahanandia, who cycled around 6,000 miles from India to Europe to reunite with the Swedish woman he had fallen in love with, while also depicting the caste-based prejudice he encountered at home. Director Orlando von Einsiedel joined Chopra Jonas in discussing the project ahead of its premiere in New York.
