RIVAL SONS Guitarist SCOTT HOLIDAY Shares ‘Autonomatic’ Single From HOL1D4Y Solo Project
Rival Sons guitarist Scott Holiday has released "Autonomatic", the second single and accompanying music video from his new solo project HOL1D4Y, ahead of his debut album "Topology" due out on 25th September 2026. The record marks a departure for Holiday, who steps into a singing role for the first time in his career, and follows a serious cycling accident that left him with six broken ribs, a shoulder injury and a head injury during the album's creation.
The album will be released via Rival Sons' own label, Sacred Tongue Recordings, with worldwide distribution through Thirty Tigers. "Topology" grew out of Holiday's daily habit of recording song fragments alone in the studio, built around improvised drum recordings from Rival Sons bandmate Michael Miley and later shaped further by keyboardist Jesse Nason on vintage synthesisers. Holiday says the title track "Autonomatic" reflects on humanity's evolving relationship with machines and artificial intelligence, while his accident forced him to keep developing the songs mentally during recovery, ultimately prompting him to add lyrics and vocals to material originally conceived as instrumental.
