Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls entered Japan’s physical software charts with estimated first-week PlayStation 5 sales of 2,814 copies, according to Famitsu data covering 3–9 August. The result placed the game below the 3,000-unit mark in a market measure that records boxed retail sales rather than total sales across digital storefronts and platforms. It did not appear in Famitsu’s top 30 for the following week, although that absence establishes only that its sales fell below the chart threshold, not its precise second-week total.

The low retail debut prompted Game Data Library, which tracks Japanese game-sales data, to characterise it as Arc System Works’ weakest major fighting-game launch in Japan, excluding particularly niche releases such as DNF Duel. The tracker said the opening was below most Guilty Gear, BlazBlue and Under Night In-Birth launches. These comparisons concern Japanese physical sales and should not be treated as a complete measure of the game’s commercial performance: separately, Alinea Analytics estimated that Marvel Tōkon sold about 485,000 copies worldwide across PlayStation 5 and Steam in its first week, an estimate rather than a publisher-confirmed figure.

  • Famitsu estimated 2,814 physical PS5 copies sold in Japan during Marvel Tōkon’s launch week.
  • The game then missed Famitsu’s top 30, but its exact second-week sales are unknown.
  • The figures cover Japanese retail only; an analyst separately estimated roughly 485,000 global first-week sales across PS5 and Steam.
