Bonnaroo Is Taking 2027 Off

Pitchfork · 3 hours ago

Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival will not take place in 2027, organisers have announced, to give its Tennessee grounds time to recover from repeated storm damage, including flooding that disrupted this year's event. The festival, held near Manchester, Tennessee, is expected to return in 2028. The move follows safety issues at the 2026 edition, where sets were delayed or cancelled, some areas were evacuated, and attendees were told to shelter in place during severe weather.

Organisers said they had already invested heavily in improving the site ahead of 2026, including better drainage, 4.5 miles of new roadways and 135 acres of new grass, but "back to back years of storms" meant the venue, particularly the main stage area, needed a longer break to recover. In a statement, the Bonnaroo team described the decision as difficult but said the pause would ultimately make the festival better, thanking fans for their continued support.
