Inter complete £30m deal for Liverpool’s Jones
Inter Milan have completed the signing of Curtis Jones from Liverpool in a deal worth €35m (£30m), ending months of negotiation between the two clubs. The 25-year-old midfielder, a Liverpool academy graduate since the age of nine, struggled to secure a regular starting role under manager Arne Slot last season, prompting the club to sanction his departure despite having only recently valued him more highly.
Liverpool accepted €30m (£25.7m) plus €5m (£4.3m) in add-ons, having rejected a €25m verbal offer in June and previously turned down a January loan proposal; they also secured a 10% sell-on clause. Jones, who made 228 appearances after making his debut under Jurgen Klopp in 2019, has signed with Inter until 2031 and becomes the third English player to join the Serie A champions this summer, following John Stones and Djed Spence.
