Xbox Game Studios has opened preorders for an official "Prototype Lancer" replica tied to the upcoming game Gears of War: E-Day, giving fans a chance to own a life-sized version of the series' signature chainsaw-mounted assault rifle. The move capitalises on long-standing demand from fans, dating back to the original Gears of War's 2006 debut, and ties into the marketing push ahead of the prequel's release, which depicts the first alien attack on the planet Sera.

The replica costs $299.99, is built to full 1:1 scale, and features a hand-painted "battle-worn" finish matching the weapons seen in the game. It comes with a display stand and an informational placard, and while it can be picked up and handled, it is designed primarily as a collector's piece rather than a toy. It is not the first Lancer replica released, following one produced around Gears of War 4 a decade ago, but it is the first based on the prototype design featured in E-Day. Orders placed now are expected to ship in February 2027, while the game itself launches on 6 October 2026.
