The clips have drawn attention partly because aide Natalie Harp was seen nearby, coming shortly after Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff made remarks at a Georgia rally implying a closeness between Trump and Harp, which the White House dismissed as "absolute trash".

According to lip reader Nicola Hickling, the couple's initially affectionate, smiling demeanour shifted sharply, with Melania appearing to say lines such as "that is private and valuable text" and later "Donald, listen, I'm gonna go", while Trump reportedly replied about "bad news" and "bad timing". Body language expert Judi James said Melania's manner suggested she was seeking agreement rather than provoking conflict, noting a warm "farewell" gesture as she left. Harp, 35, then moved into view, using her phone to draw Trump's attention, in what James described as an eager assistant's posture.
