Explained simply

The Remarried Empress is a Korean drama adapted from a Naver Webtoon, a digital comic series published by South Korea’s Naver platform. Its story centres on Navier, empress of the Eastern Kingdom, and the breakdown of her marriage to Emperor Sovieshu.

The main characters include Navier, Sovieshu, the rival Crown Prince Heinrey and Rashta, whose relationship with the emperor helps drive the conflict. Their personal ties become entangled with marriage negotiations and a struggle for influence between rulers.

The adaptation brings together established Korean actors and is part of Disney+’s growing slate of Korean-made dramas. Its source comic’s large readership gives the series a ready-made audience beyond viewers who are new to the story.
