Runable hits $21M to bet AI agents can go from building businesses to growing them

TechCrunch · 3 hours ago

Indian startup Runable has raised $21 million in Series A funding as it expands beyond helping small businesses build websites and apps into helping them grow, by finding customers, running ad campaigns and managing marketing. The move reflects a broader shift in the AI startup landscape, where creation tools are becoming commoditised and companies are racing to prove value further down the business lifecycle, in a market already crowded with players such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Cursor, Lovable and Replit.

The round was co-led by Susquehanna Venture Capital and Nexus Venture Partners, with Together Fund and Array VC also participating, valuing the Bengaluru-based firm at $65 million post-money. Founded in 2025 by Umesh Kumar and Saksham Sarda, Runable began as an AI browser-scraping infrastructure company before pivoting to a general-purpose agent after users started asking it to build slide decks and websites; it reached a $2 million annualised revenue run rate within three weeks of launching payments in March. The company now has around 1.7 million registered users, mainly in the US, UK and Japan, and its users consumed over 1 trillion tokens in the past 90 days, though Runable currently operates at negative gross margins due to subsidising AI usage costs.
