Rockstar has said Grand Theft Auto 6 will feature an open world roughly twice the size of GTA 5’s and that a recent playthrough of its story took about 80 hours. The scale reinforces expectations that the game will be one of Rockstar’s largest releases, while its reveal helped shift attention away from recent leaks and ongoing allegations of union busting in the UK.

The Florida-inspired state of Leonida includes Vice City, Port Gellhorn, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Mount Kalaga National Park and Ambrosia. Rockstar development head Rob Nelson said the 80-hour estimate covers the main story plus some optional narrative objectives, suggesting substantially more playtime for players pursuing side activities; reported comparisons place the map at three times Red Dead Redemption 2’s size.

  • GTA 6’s map is reportedly twice GTA 5’s size.
  • Rockstar estimates around 80 hours for its story.
  • Leonida includes six revealed regions, including Vice City.
