David Byrne’s recent world tour turned into 70mm concert film by Brady Corbet
David Byrne’s 2025/26 ‘Who Is The Sky?’ world tour is being turned into a 70mm concert film directed by Brady Corbet, with footage shot during several home-town shows at Baltimore’s Hippodrome. The project matters because it pairs Byrne’s large-scale, visually driven live production with a rare large-format film process, continuing his history of collaborations with prominent filmmakers.
The tour began in September 2025, visited four continents and staged more than 150 shows, featuring 13 musicians in a performance blending music, storytelling and visual art. Corbet, director of Oscar-nominated drama *The Brutalist*, said the film captures an inclusive celebration of Baltimore and its community; it remains in post-production, with no distributor or release date announced.
