Ben Brereton-Diaz has returned to Sheffield United on loan from Southampton, choosing the Blades over interest from Derby County and Stoke City. He said his previous spells at Bramall Lane, his relationship with manager Chris Wilder and the opportunity to help the club were central to his decision; the move gives Sheffield United an experienced attacking option late in the transfer window.

The 27-year-old Chile international has now had three loan spells with Sheffield United, having previously played there in 2024 and 2025. He scored six goals in 16 appearances during his first spell and four times in the 2024–25 Championship campaign; last season at Derby, he made 41 appearances, scoring eight goals and providing three assists.
