Toronto hospitality entrepreneur Charles Khabouth expects to host more film industry events during the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival, despite continued restraint in studio and streaming budgets. The increase would benefit venue staff and local suppliers, while reflecting TIFF’s role as a major networking and promotional event for Hollywood.

Khabouth said his venues held 46 TIFF events last year and have 51 booked so far, with a forecast of about 60 after late arrangements; roughly 35 are expected to be parties averaging 200 guests. However, he said the large, free-spending premiere celebrations of previous years have diminished since the pandemic, as studios closely control costs. TIFF runs from 10 to 20 September, and its new TIFF: The Market is expected to generate further demand for event services.
