Lovers’ explosive tiff ended in death of innocent mother caught in path of their unhinged meltdown, cops say

Daily Mail · 2 hours ago

Janelle Marie Swenson, a 42-year-old mother of three, died after a truck allegedly driven by a couple involved in a dispute crashed into her car in Minnesota. Prosecutors have charged Kerri Ellen Hart with criminal vehicular homicide and Jack Leroy Daniel Drumbeater with second-degree manslaughter and third-degree murder. The case matters because Swenson was reportedly an uninvolved motorist caught up in an alleged violent and reckless incident.

Authorities say Hart drove away rapidly from a petrol station as Drumbeater held onto the truck before climbing into its cab, shortly before the collision about two and a half blocks away. Swenson was trapped in her vehicle by the impact and died at the scene; Hart suffered serious injuries. Police reportedly found 1.4 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the allegedly stolen truck, and Drumbeater admitted using methamphetamine that morning.
