Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang briefly left an all-hands meeting after receiving a phone call from President Donald Trump, whose voice was audible to staff through Huang’s microphone. The incident drew attention because it highlighted Huang’s direct access to the White House at a time when Nvidia faces important policy and regulatory questions concerning AI and chip exports.

Trump later praised Nvidia’s quarterly results online, after the company reported second-quarter revenue of $96 billion, up 106% year on year. The call came on the same day Nvidia announced an employee-funded political action committee, while reports also suggested it may acquire Hugging Face in a deal worth more than $13 billion, potentially requiring US antitrust approval.
