Olivia Rodrigo’s Inaugural Daisy Chain Fields Will Be a Showing of Unity — Even for Photographers

The Hollywood Reporter · 3 hours ago

Olivia Rodrigo’s inaugural Daisy Chain Fields festival is intended as a show of support for women-centred causes, with $10 million set to be donated to ten non-profit organisations. The event also aims to promote inclusion behind the scenes by largely using female, trans, non-binary and gender-nonconforming photographers, highlighting the continuing male dominance of photography and videography.

The one-day festival takes place at Great Park in Irvine, California, with performers including Rodrigo, Chappell Roan, Doechii, Mitski, Garbage, Bikini Kill and Stevie Nicks. The funds were raised through sponsorships and artists performing without fees, and will support organisations including Planned Parenthood, Baby2Baby, Black Mamas Matter Alliance and the National Women’s Law Center; organisers stress that photographer selection is inclusive rather than an absolute exclusion of men.

  • Rodrigo’s festival will donate $10 million to women-centred causes.
  • Female and gender-diverse photographers will largely cover the event.
  • Artists are performing free to help fund the donations.
