Elden Ring players are hard at work putting the new Tarnished Edition DLC’s gear to the test
Players are testing the weapons, armour and classes added through Elden Ring’s Tarnished Edition DLC, sharing boss fights and build experiments online. The response shows how even a small paid addition can renew interest in a long-established game by giving experienced players new ways to approach combat and character creation.
The $5 pack adds new starting classes, armour sets and horse armour, with some items hidden in unexpected locations. Leontiel’s Greatsword has proved especially popular for its matador-inspired skill, while the Idus Knight’s chestpiece is attracting players focused on appearance as well as defence. Players also report that the Heavy Knight’s high vigour and strength make it a durable melee option, particularly later in the game.
