The original 1987 sci-fi action film "Predator" is set to leave Peacock's streaming library on 1 September 2026, giving audiences only a few days to catch it before its removal. The film's departure comes as interest in the franchise has grown following a run of critically well-received recent instalments, prompting renewed curiosity about the series' origins.

Directed by John McTiernan, "Predator" starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as part of a squad of soldiers confronting an alien hunter, voiced by Peter Cullen, in a South American jungle. Released two years after McTiernan's fellow blockbuster director James Cameron's "The Terminator", it grossed nearly $100 million worldwide on an $18 million budget and holds a 65% score on Rotten Tomatoes. After two poorly received reboots in 2011 and 2018, the franchise was revitalised by director Dan Trachtenberg with "Prey", "Predator: Killer of Killers" and "Predator: Badlands".
