Olivia Rodrigo turned an eleventh-hour lineup change into one of the standout moments of her first Daisy Chain Fields festival on Saturday 29 August, held at Great Park in Irvine, California. Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O had been due to perform but withdrew shortly before the show, with Rodrigo telling the crowd herself that a personal matter meant Karen O could not attend, while stressing she had been among the earliest artists to commit to the event. In her place, Rodrigo brought out Alanis Morissette, and the pair tore into "Ironic", the enduring single from Morissette's 1995 album Jagged Little Pill.

According to one account of the set, Rodrigo and Morissette used the performance to make a pointed lyrical tweak, altering the song's well-known reference to a "beautiful wife" to a "beautiful husband" — a nod to the all-women, queer-inclusive spirit of a bill that also featured Chappell Roan and Doechii. A separate report on the night placed the Morissette cameo within a longer run of guest appearances, describing Daisy Chain Fields as a festival inspired by Lilith Fair, the touring showcase for women in music founded by Sarah McLachlan in the late 1990s.
