Leeds Festival was forced to shut down its popular Warehouse Stage on 30 August due to overcrowding and unsafe conditions, sparking frustration among attendees. Organisers issued an on-site alert telling festival-goers "The Warehouse is closed. Please move away from The Warehouse," halting performances at short notice on what appeared to be the event's final day.

DJ Julian Fijma was mid-set when the closure happened, and he apologised to the crowd, explaining there were "way too many people outside" and that the show couldn't continue safely, promising to return another time. It remains unclear whether the stage will reopen, leaving the status of subsequent sets by acts including Mall Grab, Rossi, Silva Bumpa and Riordan in doubt, with no further update yet issued by festival organisers.

Leeds Festival is a large music event held each year in Bramham Park, near Leeds. It runs across several days and features multiple stages, so audiences can choose between performances happening at the same time.

The Warehouse is one of the festival’s stages, with DJs and dance music among its programme. Festival organisers manage the event and can pause or stop performances if they judge that conditions are unsafe.

Crowding can make it harder for people to move around and for staff to manage an area. A stage closure can therefore affect both the audience and performers scheduled to play there.
